Our goal is to provide an open source, enterprise network management system, leveraging JBoss' Application Server as the backbone. The application we intend to provide will create a rich graphical representation of physical objects (servers, buildings, etc.) as well as logical objects (IPs, Networks, etc.) and manage their states/status via JBoss services (MBeans). The application's current design is to use Hibernate as is persistence mechanism and cache service and MBeans to act as a controller to this data.
